Behind the scenes, this town features a group of business owners and residents who form the Newtown Corporation, an economic development body that manages our large public-private partnership. The mission of this organization is to foster a strong business environment while maintaining harmony with surrounding neighborhoods and preserving Newtown’s rich historical character. The Newtown Corporation is truly a community alliance, unifying the historic locale with houses of worship, commercial and industrial districts with the landmark residences nestled among us — with an eye on preserving and enhancing our status. Because the destinies of the Newtown Borough and Newtown Township are intertwined, we build opportunities that meet the needs of Newtown businesses, residents and visitors. The mission of the NBPA is to promote Newtown as a great place to live, work, shop and do business. Any business that is located in Newtown or conducts business in Newtown on a regular basis is eligible to become a member of the NBPA. The Newtown Historic Association, Inc. was incorporated in 1964 as an organization dedicated to the preservation of Newtown's historical heritage. Our mission is to stimulate interest in, preserve, celebrate and share the historical heritage of both Newtown borough and township.
